Shelbra Woolridge, Co-Owner, Executive Officer, and Education Director of CodeXcellence Incorporated
is a Certified Professional Coder. She holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Medical Billing and
Insurance Coding from Herzing University and is certified through the American Academy of Professional
Coders (AAPC). She is no stranger to the healthcare industry, possessing more than 29 years of work
experience in healthcare. Nine years were focused on medical billing, medical coding and medical record
auditing at Akron Children’s Hospital and Medical Center, Summa Health System and Christian
Healthcare Ministries. She was an integral part of instituting the AAPC Akron Chapter, where local
coders could attend meetings to earn CEU’s and/or take the Medical Coding Certification Exam, serving
initially as Member Coordinator for one year and then as Chapter President for two years.
Anitra C. Humphrey, Co-Owner, Executive Officer, Director of Marketing for CodeXcellence. Ms. Humphrey has over 20 years of experience in the medical field, with 17 years of medical coding and billing experience specifically. Anitra has attained certifications as a Certified Professional Medical Coder, Certified Evaluation and Management Coder and Certified Professional Medical Auditor, all through the American Association of Professional Coders. She has served in the American Association of Professional Coders Akron Chapter as secretary. Anitra is also an author and has written several articles for the American Association of Professional Coders Business Monthly magazine and blog. Ms. Humphrey serves the community through her local church and with her organization “Nit’s Brunch and Talk,” providing a safe place for women to gather while receiving valuable information from guest speakers on a variety of subjects. The organization also collects items for donations for local organizations to further support the community. Ms. Humphrey is the proud mother of three adult daughters who also reside in the Cleveland, Ohio area.
